First flight to another airfield

by shags_j on 23-05-2010 at 08:42 PM
So after almost two months away (honeymoon then catchup at work) I decided to go back and take a flight with my instructor to Redcliffe and Caloundra. Both are within the 25nm from Caboolture so potential destinations for any flights I take at the moment.

So prepped the aircraft no problems there. My instructor asked if I had made any notes on the airfields, oops. I had pretty much memorised the ERSA for the two fields so I was able to answer most questions he threw at me. With the

Honeymoon Flight - JAPAN!!!!

by shags_j on 28-04-2010 at 12:07 PM
So I'm 30 and have been living with my partner for nearly ten years. I decided that it was probably time we were married so I popped the question. So long story short we were married on the 10th of April.

Honeymoon started on the 12th. We left for Japan. Now some of you may say "well good for you, but why are you telling us this?". Well this believe it or not is my very first flight in a commercial aircraft. I was fairly hyped by it and couldn't wait.

I will start a new thread for udpates and changes requested and the likelihood that they will occur. Either way nothing will change till I return from my honeymoon in three weeks time. Feel

Flight on 13/02/2010

by shags_j on 02-03-2010 at 03:46 AM
Well my second flight of the year. The first one of the year I didn't take a camera with me.

On this one I had a passenger, one of the advisors from work. Forgot to take the obligatory shot of him beside the aircraft though. He does want to go up again so we will rectify that next time.

Conditions were great given that the whole week before and after had huge amounts of low level cloud and rain so we were pretty stoked that this flight was so clear.

Runway 12 Logbook software

by shags_j on 17-02-2010 at 04:29 AM
Just a quick post. Some of you may have noticed on the forums I have discussed a piece of software I have written. I have called it "Runway 12". Hope the name isn't already taken, I should probably check that...

Anyways, I wrote the program for myself but will provide it for free to any who want it. Basically it is an electronic logbook that provides quick assistance for things like passenger endorsement currency, notification of biennial flight reviews and when my raaus renewal is
